Feb. 14, 2010 – Snorkel has unveiled the XT24SD, a unique solution to working at height. The Snorkel XT24SD combines the transport benefits of a trailer-mounted lift with the performance and manoeuvrability of a self-propelled aerial work platform. It is light enough to be easily towed by most saloon cars, or light commercial vehicles - and can be driven from the platform like a conventional scissor lift.

Feb. 14, 2010 – Snorkel has unveiled the XT24SD, a unique solution to working at height. The Snorkel XT24SD combines the transport benefits of a trailer-mounted lift with the performance and manoeuvrability of a self-propelled aerial work platform. It is light enough to be easily towed by most saloon cars, or light commercial vehicles – and can be driven from the platform like a conventional scissor lift.

George Fitchett, Vice-President of Sales for Snorkel, said: “The Snorkel XT24SD is a real breakthrough in aerial work platforms. Designed specifically to meet the needs of the modern contractor or facilities manager, you can easily tow the machine to the job site, then drive it to the work location from the platform. We see this as the aerial lift of choice for a wide range of industries, from external building and facilities maintenance to sign installation and even crowd control. In particular, there is huge potential with rental companies, as it makes aerial lifts attractive to a whole sector of end users who are currently put off by the transport costs associated with a rental."

The Snorkel XT24SD offers a narrow jacking option, providing a platform height of up to 12ft for working in confined spaces. For jobs that require more height, the outriggers can be fully extended, to deliver a platform height of up to 22ft 6in. In both operations, the one touch auto-levelling system means the outriggers are easily deployed and levelled at the push of a button.

The roll-out deck extension provides almost a metre of outreach. Light yet robust, the platform can lift 500lbs – ideal for two people and tools – and still has a weight suitable for towing with many cars and most light commercial vehicles.
