Hilti introduces new gas saws, breaker, at The Rental Show

Feb. 16, 2010 – Hilti took the opportunity presented by The Rental Show in Orlando, Fla., to introduce several new products geared to the equipment rental business. The new products are the Hilti DSH 700 and DSH 900 hand held gas saws, and the Hilti TE 1500-AVR Breaker.

According to the company, the new Hilti DSH 700 and DSH 900 hand held gas saws give rental customers more productivity with less downtime. They have been designed from the ground up to incorporate features and requirements that rental professionals have asked for, like high power for fast cutting speed and easy-to-remember starting procedure with simple controls.

These new Hilti gas saws perform well in a variety of rental applications including cutting wet/dry concrete and asphalt for small repair projects, expansion joints and curbs, brick and concrete block, as well as cutting small floor or wall openings. These Hilti hand held gas saws also excel in cutting metal deck, rebar, bolts, dowel bars, grating and other metals with abrasive blades. When the DSH 700 and 900 saws are combined with Hilti Equidist custom diamond blades, these saws offer the best in class power-to-weight ratio for optimum cutting speed and productivity.

The new DSH 700 and 900 hand held gas saws are built to enhance the renter’s experience. Isolated handles with metal springs minimize vibrations and maximize saw control. With a simple counter-clockwise starting procedure and a primer bulb for fewer pulls, starting the Hilti DSH 700 and 900 hand held gas saws is easier than ever.

These hand held saws also come standard with a cyclone filtration system (no pre-filter) and simple rope replacement for easy maintenance and maximum durability. To provide unparalleled productivity, ease of use and reliability, Hilti offers rental centers up to six months of maintenance parts for the DSH 700 and 900 saws.

Hilti says the new TE 1500-AVR Breaker is ideal for rental applications, as it combines tremendous impact energy with the lowest vibration in its class for exceptional demolition productivity. From breaking up slabs of concrete and foundations walls to opening penetrations for pipes and electrical wires, this breaker offers rental centres and its’ customers great flexibility and durability.

With 22 foot-pounds of impact energy generated by a 1,800-watt motor, the TE 1500-AVR delivers up to 1,950 blows per minute to efficiently break up floors, slabs or foundations. However, all that power doesn’t come at the sacrifice of operator comfort for rental customers. The TE 1500-AVR offers a best-in-class weight-to-power ratio, along with Hilti’s sub-chassis active vibration reduction (AVR) system that dramatically cuts the vibration.  This advanced design allows renters to work longer and be more productive.

Hilti didn’t just maximize power with the TE 1500-AVR, it also extended durability. An active cooling system reduces wear and tear on the motor, electronics and hammering mechanism.
