News

Nov. 12, 2009, Greenwich, Cn. — United Rentals has announced that the company has been selected by GI Jobs magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers for 2010.

Over 5,000 companies with revenues of at least $500 million were considered for the honor, which was awarded based on the strength of a company’s military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, and workforce policies regarding service.

Michael Kneeland, chief executive officer of United Rentals, said, “In recent years, our company has made a concerted effort to recruit veterans of military service, as they exemplify many of the qualities we value as an employer: personal leadership, teamwork, discipline, diversity and a strong work ethic. This designation reflects the importance we place on maintaining our leadership position by hiring employees of the highest caliber.”
