craontoct19Oct. 20, 2011 - About 50 rental professionals descended on Wacker Neuson's Mississauga, Ont., facility to take part in the Canadian Rental Association Ontario's monthly member meeting. After 45 minutes of socializing the attendees were treated to a catered buffet dinner which, according to John Ciaraldi of Tsurumi Canada, included the best lasagna he has ever had!

After dinner, Dean Nasato of Wacker Neuson welcomed everyone and Mike
Maltby, CRA Ontario president, introduced Dan Malloy, enforcement
supervisor for the Ministry of Transportation. Malloy discussed pre-trip
inspections and regulations as they pertain to commercial delivery
vehicles. He also explained what is required in load security to ensure
that you will be compliant if you are ever pulled over for an
inspection. Unfortunately due to the the steady downpour that took place
throughout the evening, the outside demonstration explaining some of
these items had to be cancelled.

A lengthy round table discussion took place afterward with many
questions from the audience being directed to Malloy for clarification
on specific items.

The next Ontario meeting is scheduled for November 16 with more details to follow.
