
United Technologies buys Chinese air conditioning manufacturer

NewsAugust 3, 2011 - United Technologies' Carrier unit, which provides heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration
solutions, says it has acquired a controlling interest in China's Shandong Fuerda Air Conditioner Equipment Co.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Fuerda, which makes water source and geothermal heat pump products,
posted 2010 revenue of more than $30 million. It has more than 300
employees, a manufacturing facility and 23 sales offices
covering 20 provinces in China, Carrier said.
United Technologies shares rose 14 cents to $79.07 in pre-market trading.
