Industry education at 2013 World of Asphalt

Mar. 11, 2013 – Industry professionals are invited to
join their peers for the 2013 William F. Troxler Memorial Golf Tournament, March 18,
at The Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas. The tournament will be held in
conjunction with the 2013 World of Asphalt Show and Conference, slated for March 19 to 21
at San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Event
organizers explain the 2013 fundraising event grew out of a tournament that was
the creation of William Troxler, founder of Troxler Electronic
Laboratories, and held annually from 1990 to the mid-2000s. Event supporters
reinstituted the event in memory of Troxler for his efforts to help develop
the next generation of industry leaders. Troxler passed away in June 2000.

Sixty-three
years after its founding, the IRF Fellowship Program, administered through the
International Road Educational Foundation, remains the organization’s “crown
jewel,” commented IRF chairman and Mayor of Riyadh, Abdullah A. Al-Mogbel.

“The Fellowship Program uses leading academic institutions and has been
designed to assist the next generation of road professional from developing
countries, and the Program has a multiplier effect in the transfer of knowledge
by providing graduate-level education to individuals who are mandated to return
to their home countries after graduation,” said Al-Mogbel.

“The IRF is pleased to partner with AEM in re-launching the William F. Troxler
Memorial Golf Tournament at the 2013 World of Asphalt,” added C. Patrick
Sankey, president and CEO of IRF. “The road sector faces
many challenges around the world and it is essential for our industry to
support the educational endeavors of the next generation of transportation professionals.”

“World
of Asphalt is known as an industry gathering place with unparalleled networking
to not only keep up to speed but also foster camaraderie. And the show is run
by the industry, to meet industry needs. This golf outing is an ideal way to
extend the networking and advance the industry,” stated show manager Rich
Prausa. Co-located with World of Asphalt are the 2013 AGG1 Aggregates Academy and
Expo, as well as several industry meetings and workshops.
