May 11, 2009 – SmartEquip has announced that Larry Kaye has been named vice president of fleet business development. Kaye will be responsible for interfacing with SmartEquip’s fleet owner clients including The CAT Rental Stores, RentalOne, Sunbelt Rentals, United Rentals, Volvo Rents and a growing list of and independent rental companies. Kaye was SmartEquip’s account manager for The CAT Rental Stores prior to assuming his new position.
Alex Schuessler, SmartEquip’s chairman and CEO says Kaye is a widely respected industry veteran. “Our clients tell us that Larry’s vast experience in the construction equipment and rental industry has enabled them to rapidly capture significant cost savings via the SmartEquip Network.”
Kaye’s career in the construction equipment industry spans 30 years, during which he started and owned rental operations which he later sold to companies including RSC and United Rentals. In addition, he has worked as a consultant, both domestically and internationally, for some of the leading OEMs in the construction equipment industry, such as Caterpillar, Bobcat, and Terex.
