
Fraudsters hit equipment dealers

NewsJune 6, 2012 - Con artists have been using phony certified cheques to rip off equipment suppliers in the GTA and central/southern Ontario. The Canadian Rental Association reports at least three machines have been stolen this way, and 22 bogus cheques passed.
One of the victims, Kooy Brothers, was able to capture images of the thieves that appear below. The CRA reports Hitch City in Mississaga, Ont., was hit for a Hustler worth $5800. The CRA encourages rental operators to print these images and post them in their shops.

Kooy Brothers has provided the top two images that they allege are photos of the fraud artists. The logo on the hat of the man in the middle photo has been identified as a Burton snowboard logo, which is shown larger above.
