Free lift safety training at the Canadian Rental Mart

Jan. 26 - The Canadian Rental Mart is spicing up its offering to rental store attendees with free lift training. Pat Lipscomb of Occupational Safety Group will train attendees in all aspects of safe operation of aerial work platforms in the free, hands-on, eight-hour course. Course participants will receive documentation recognized by provincial labour safety authorities confirming they are trained in safe AWP operation. Labour regulations in Ontario and other jurisdictions now require anyone operating a lift device to have proof of safety training. Rental Mart training is provided free courtesy of Haulotte.


Training takes place March 8, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. By the end of the day, course participants will be able to:

  • Identify hazards when working with AWPs
  • Understand how AWP controls work
  • Complete a pre-operational inspection
  • Understand safe operating procedures
  • Understand proper shutdown and park procedures
  • Understand fuel-source basics
