Nov. 15, 2010 – Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) has put together special list of topics on protecting tools and equipment throughout the winter.

“Freezing temperatures, snow, ice and wind can all do serious damage to tools and equipment,” said Gerry Plescia, President, HERC. “But properly treating and storing them before winter hits can add years to their life and make them ready to use in the spring.”

Peter Pochapsky, Product Support Director, HERC says everyone can benefit from and implementing a number of simple measures. Pochapsky emphasizes that one should never override the safety features of any tools or equipment and should consult operation manuals for maintenance guidelines. Additionally, maintenance and cleaning should never be performed on running equipment.

A complete list of winter tool and equipment care tips is available at HERC’s web site, www.hertzequip.com .
