Western Global Introduces Abbi Mobile Refuelers

Originally released in 2001 in the UK and Europe, the popular Abbi range has been improved and updated to better serve the industry, including its recently achieved global approvals.

The Abbi mobile refueler is a trailer mounted fuel storage tank that offers many of the benefits of other Western Global products, such as the TransCube. Available with capacities ranging from 1,000 to 2,900 litres, the Abbi is double-walled and fully certified for the safe storage and transport of fuel under UL, ULC, and UN approvals. Key features of the tank include:

– Secure, lockable equipment cabinet to enclose pumping and dispensing equipment
– Direct access into the inner tank via access manway for cleaning and inspection
– Mobile design with internal baffles for safe transportation
– Forklift pockets for easy maneuvering

The newest member of the European Abbi range, the Abbi Blue, is also being introduced to North America along with the standard models. Commended for efficiency by the Plantworx Association in 2014, this double-walled tank features dual compartments to store both fuel and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). To meet the challenge posed by DEF’s susceptibility to contamination, the Abbi Blue has a separate poly tank and pump cabinet for DEF, providing a closed environment for the fluid to be stored and eliminating the worry of cross contamination between fluids.

With the introduction of Tier 4 machinery, construction and industrial operators are now faced with the challenge of having to safely transport and handle DEF. Using one mobile unit for both fuel and DEF provides greater efficiency in refueling equipment and less down time on the job site.

The release of this dual purpose unit will help rental companies minimize their risk when renting tier 4 machinery. Contaminated DEF can cause damage to equipment’s SCR system and engine, as well as void equipment warranties. Being able to offer a reliable and proven DEF solution to their customers can help to ensure they handle DEF properly and avoid unnecessary breakdowns.
