Oct. 13, 2010 — Nominations are now being accepted for the ARA Insurance/National Equipment Register (NER) Theft Award, an honour bestowed upon an individual who has helped the equipment rental industry fight equipment theft.
The sixth annual ARA Insurance/NER Award will be presented during a special ceremony at The Rental Show, ARA’s annual convention and trade show that is taking place in Las Vegas, Feb. 27-March 2, 2011. The Rental Show is the largest rental equipment trade show in the world.
The ARA Insurance/NER Award was established to highlight heavy-equipment theft recovery and the hard work of law enforcement personnel to prevent theft and recover stolen equipment. The award recognizes a sworn law enforcement officer or a civilian support person who has “performed exceptional service to the rental industry through the recovery of rental equipment or through theft-prevention initiatives.”
The recipient will be afforded VIP guest status at The Rental Show, including round-trip travel and accommodations, and a commemorative plaque. In addition, a $1,000 grant will be awarded to the recipient’s department to aid in equipment-theft investigations.
Nominations may be submitted by Nov. 1, 2010 to Alysia Ryan at ARA by e-mail at alysia.ryan@ararental.org by fax at 309-764-1533 or by mail to ARA, 1900 19th St., Moline, IL 61265 or Stacy Kaufman at NER by e-mail at skaufman@nerusa.com.
