Sommers Generators’ customers receive “birthday gifts” for 75th anniversary

Sommers Motor Generator Sales has been operating under the Sommers family since 1936. As part of its 75th anniversary commemorations throughout 2012, the company has been entering its customers from across Canada into a draw featuring a $2,000 Green Egg smoker grill package as its grand prize.

To
draw the winning entry, Kaye Sommers
joined her son, Kenneth Sommers,
and her grandson, Patrick Sommers.

founded Sommers
Motor Generator Sales with her
husband, the late Wes Sommers
in 1936, and maintains an active interest in the business. Kenneth Sommers,
who recently celebrated 50 years with the firm, has served as president of the
firm for many years while Patrick, as vice-president of operations, shares
day-to-day leadership of the business with General Manager Chris McGregor.

 

Following
a brief ceremony in Sommers’
Tavistock showroom, Kaye Sommers
announced that the winning ticket belonged to Cathy Buttella from Eastmain
Resources of Orangeville, Ont.

 

Tom
Sargent Farms of Milton, Ont, and Sturdy Power
Lines of Gilford, Ont, each won a runner-up prize of a SMG3000h
portable generator. Six additional
consolation prizes were awarded Bern Noseworthy, Conception
Bay, N.L.; Foothills
Electric, Calgary, Alta.;
Schelegehome Farms, Shakespeare, Ont.; L&B Electric, Bridgewater, N.S.;.
Jacomeg Farms, Elora, Ont.
and Tyler Vankessel, Arkona,
Ont.
