March 1, 2017 - Skyjack unveiled its new class-leading articulating boom SJ85 AJ and displayed the largest telehandler from its range during American Rental Association’s The Rental Show 2017 in Orlando, Florida.

“At Skyjack we design all our equipment with rental companies in mind, so The Rental Show is a great opportunity for us to showcase our two new additions this year – the SJ85 AJ, which features class-leading platform height of 85 ft; and the SJ1256 TH telehandler, which brings our superior load chart performance to the 12,000-lb lifting capacity market,” said Brad Boehler, president, Skyjack.

The new SJ85 AJ articulating boom is engineered with simple reliability in mind and fills out Skyjack’s offering in the core 40 ft, 60 ft and 80 ft boom classes. The SJ85 AJ offers class leading platform height 85 ft (25.91 m) and up and over clearance 34 ft (10.36 m), dual capacity rating of 750 lb (227 kg)/ 500 lbs (340 kg).

As with Skyjack’s SJ63 AJ boom, the SJ85 AJ features SKYRISERTM true vertical rise and SPEEDYREACHTM lifting efficiency. Other design features found only on Skyjack rough terrain booms are also found on the SJ85 AJ; EASYDRIVETM, direction-sensing drive and steer controls regardless of turret position over chassis; and AXLEDRIVETM, an axle-based drive system for excellent rough terrain traction.

Skyjack’s Tier-IV final compliant SJ1256 TH will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2017. Based heavily on the SJ1056 TH, the SJ1256 TH shares 70% commonality of parts, as well as the layout and easy maintenance features from across the TH series. Ideal for heavier-duty applications, the SJ1256 TH features 12,000-lbs (5,443 kg) maximum lift capacity, 56.3 ft (17.1 m) maximum lift height, 6,000 lbs (2,721 kg) lift capacity at maximum lift height without deploying outriggers and 7,000 lbs (3,175 kg) lift capacity at maximum lift height with outriggers deployed, 42.6 ft (12.95m) maximum forward reach and a Tier-IV final 107hp Deutz TCD3.6L engine that uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid but requires no regeneration.

As with other models in the TH series, it offers unique Skyjack features including FLEXCABTM that allows fleet operators to easily convert between open and enclosed cabs with simple hand tools; and READYHOOKTM, Skyjack’s yoke mounted lifting hook that allows the appropriate under-slinging of loads to avoid the practice of using the forks as an underslung lifting device.

In addition to the new 85 ft articulating boom and the 12,000 lb telehandler, Skyjack will also display a range of its simply reliable equipment:
Vertical mast lifts – SJ12
DC electric scissors – SJ3219, SJ3226, SJ4740
Rough terrain scissors – SJ6832 RT
Articulating booms – SJ30 ARJE, SJ63 AJ
