Passing of the gavel sets stage for incoming ARA board members

Mar. 22, 2013 – During the keynote session at The Rental Show in Las Vegas
on Feb. 11, American Rental Association president Mike Flesher completed the
ceremonial “passing of the gavel” to Mike Blaisdell, ARA’s president-elect, who took over as ARA president at the conclusion of the show on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Flesher became ARA chairman.

Also joining the ARA board of
directors at the conclusion of the show were Paul Phelon of Timp Rental Center in
Orem, Utah, as ARA president-elect; Jeff Johnstone of Party Perfect in
Richmond, Va., as Region Two director; Tony Long of Mint Hill Tool Rental
in Charlotte, N.C., as Region Three director; Robert Pedersen of A Tool Shed in Santa
Cruz, Calif., as Region Nine director; and Scott Smith of The Charles Machine
Works in Perry, Okla., as associate member director.

Mark Gilbertson of Fargo Rentall in
Fargo, N.D., joins the ARA board as General Tool and Equipment Shared Interest
Group chairman. Jimmy Pate of Pate’s Rental in Comanche, Texas, became Region Four
director and Terry Turner of All Occasions Party Rentals in Knoxville,
Tenn., became chairman of the Party and Event Services SIG.

The following officers and directors completed
their terms on the ARA board at the conclusion of The Rental Show
2013 in Las Vegas: Ted Cook of Ventura Rentals in Ventura, Calif. (chairman of the
board); Pierre Pereira of Billy Goat Industries in Lee’s Summit, Mo. (associate member director); Alan Wismer of George’s Tool Rental in Hatfield, Pa. (Region Two
director); Ben Cooke of Cooke Rentals in Mt. Airy, N.C., (Region Three director); and
Sherri Creighton of Pleasanton Rentals in Pleasanton, Calif. (Region Nine director).
