Ontario announces new small business support
By Patrick Flannery
Ontario premier Doug Ford announced the whole province will be going back into lockdown Dec. 26, with northern Ontario coming out Jan. 11 and southern Ontario Jan. 23. Small businesses forced to close or “severely” restrict activities in this period will be eligible for $10,000 to $20,000 in provincial assistance. Equipment rental stores are on the list of examples of eligible businesses, suggesting rental stores will be expected to return to curbside pickup only. No specific mention of party or event rental operations.
