No Rental Mart in 2020 – check out online Rental Summits instead

Canadian Rental Mart organizers have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 edition of the show to a fall date in 2021. The exact date is to be determined. Instead, Canadian Rental Service will present a series of online Rental Summits delivering expert education on rental technology, with each one focused on a different popular equipment category. Sponsors will also give attendees a look at their latest equipment in an attempt to replicate as closely as possible the experience of a visit to a Rental Mart booth.

“It won’t come as a surprise to anyone that the ongoing pandemic restrictions make it impossible to go forward with our October date for the live event,” said Danielle Labrie, Rental Mart show manager. “Even with Ontario starting to emerge from the lockdown, it is very unlikely that gatherings of hundreds of people indoors will be allowed any time before the end of the year. But with everyone getting so comfortable with online video conferencing, we thought there was a chance to deliver some of the contact with major suppliers that people have relied on the Rental Mart for for the last 30 years.”

The online events are called Rental Summits and the first takes place Aug. 25 at 10 am EDT. Sponsored by Bomag, the focus will be on compaction. Tom Watson, director of rental channel for Bomag will give a crash course on how soil compaction works and how to match the right machine to the application. Then he’ll take the camera for a walk through Bomag’s demonstration facility, where attendees will get a look at the latest in advanced soil compaction equipment from one of the world’s top manufacturers. Future planned Rental Summits include construction heat on Sept. 25 and aerial equipment on Oct. 20. Registration is free online.
