May 15, 2017 - The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board boosted its stake in shares of United Rentals by 9.2% during the first quarter, according to its most recent 13F filing with the SEC. The fund owned 143,185 shares of the construction company’s stock after buying an additional 12,092 shares during the period. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board owned 0.17% of United Rentals worth $17,905,000 at the end of the most recent quarter.
May 15, 2017 - TVH in the Americas (TVH), is sponsoring two male puppies in training at the National Service Dogs (NSD) organization in Ontario, Canada. This TVHCares initiative takes care of each puppy’s veterinary, training and care expenses for the first year.
May 1, 2017 - United Rentals, Inc. has announced financial results for the first quarter 2017. Total revenue was $1.356 billion and rental revenue was $1.166 billion for the first quarter, compared with $1.310 billion and $1.117 billion, respectively, for the same period last year. On a GAAP basis, the company reported first quarter net income of $109 million, or $1.27 per diluted share, compared with $92 million, or $1.01 per diluted share, for the same period last year.

Cooper Equipment Rentals aims to make equipment rental solutions easy for customers. As of May 1, Cooper will have two Ottawa locations. April 18, 2017 - Ed Zynomirski, Vice President of Sales for ECHO Incorporated, is pleased to announce that Michelle Wagter has accepted the position of General Manager of ECHO Power Equipment Canada.  In her new role Michelle will lead our London, Ontario head office management team and additionally will be directly responsible for the financial operations of our company. Michelle officially assumed her new role as of March 28, 2017.  
April 18, 2017 - JCB has announced the appointment of Richard Fox-Marrs as president and CEO of JCB Inc., responsible for JCB operations in North America, including sales and support for the construction, agricultural, rental, government and defense industries. Additionally, Fox-Marrs is responsible for production at JCB North America's Savannah headquarters, where the company manufactures the 3CX backhoe loader, skid steer and compact track loaders, along with the military specific High Mobility Engineer Excavator and Light Capability Rough Terrain Forklift. Fox-Marrs’ appointment is effective immediately.
April 18, 2017 - Speedy Services has acquired Edmonton Alberta based FC Equipment Rentals and Waste Management from the First Choice Business Group. Speedy Services is owned by the former general manager of First Choice, Adam Snook.

Weber MT has announced its new leadership team for Weber MT North America.
Trimont Financial – a subsidiary of The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company  – has agreed to acquire Western Financial Group and Western Life Assurance from Desjardins Financial Corporation for a total transaction value of about $775 million. Western Financial administers the Canadian Rental Association's protected self-insurance program. The transaction includes Western’s primary business units: its brokerage network, Western Financial Group Insurance Solutions, Coast Capital Insurance Services and Western Life Assurance. It is subject to standard closing conditions, including regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2017.
