In its 2018 fall economic statement, the federal government has announced its intention to triple the depreciation allowed in the first year that a business puts capital investments into use. The change applies to a wide range of capital assets, including buildings, computers and construction equipment. In an example provided in the statement, the allowed first-year depreciation on earth moving equipment would move from 15 to 45 percent.

John Deere is ranked 88th in the Best Global Brands research announced today, moving up 4 spots from a year ago. Interbrand estimates the John Deere brand to now be worth approximately $5.4 billion.

Aug. 29, 2018 - The Brock Group has announced that Raymond A. Aronoffhas joined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Aronoff most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of BakerCorp, an industrial solutions provider with more than 65 locations inNorth America and Europe. Prior to BakerCorp, Mr. Aronoff held positions with the Boston Consulting Group and NASA's Johnson Space Center. BakerCorp was recently purchased by United Rentals.
Aug. 15, 2018 - Finning International Inc. has announced that Juan Carlos Villegas, President of Finning Canada and Chief Operating Officer of Finning International, will retire on December 31, 2018 following a distinguished career with the company. Kevin Parkes, currently Managing Director of Finning UK and Ireland, will assume the role of President of Finning Canada. Assuming the role of Managing Director of Finning UK and Ireland will be David Primrose, currently Finning Canada’s Executive Vice President of Core Industries. Kevin and David will assume their positions on January 1, 2019 and will report to Finning International’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Scott Thomson.
