New marketing director at U.K.-based Speedy Hire

Steve McIntyre has joined Speedy Hire as the new group marketing director.

July 29, 2010 – Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest equipment rental company, named Steve McIntyre group marketing director.

Before studying marketing strategy at Chicago Northwestern University’s Kellogg Institute in 2001, McIntyre worked in an international marketing role in the oil and gas sector for almost 20 years, including several years in the Middle East. Speedy chief executive Steve Corcoran said McIntyre’s wealth of experience qualified him to lead the company’s expansion into industries outside its core client base in construction and into related services, as well as its presence in the Middle East.

“We have evolved from an equipment hire firm to become a leading business-to-business support services company with the U.K. construction sector and are now establishing ourselves as a provider of choice to major asset owners in industries like infrastructure, energy and facilities management,” Corcoran said.

Speedy is based in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, U.K.
