Oct. 17, 2012 - Doug Green passed away on Oct. 14. He was an absolute staple in the rental industry in Canada back in Desa’s heyday.  Desa was the parent manufacturing company of portable heaters using the brand names Ready-Heater, Universal, and Master Heater. Green was the North American sales manager for many years servicing both Canada and the United States.

I first met Doug back in my Stephenson’s Rent-All days in the mid
'90’s. As a former customer, industry competitor, and personal friend, I learned of Doug's passing with great sadness. He had been battling cancer for almost two years.  Although he was in and out of the hospital for
various stays and treatments, he spent the last few months at home in
hospice with his wife Jeri at his side. Competitor or not, the industry has lost a great one.

Memorial services will take place at Christ Episcopal Church, 1215 State St., Bowling Green, Kty. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m., Oct. 17, and 10 – 11 a.m. on Oct. 18. The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. on the 18th, followed by a reception. Green's family has asked that well-wishers make donations to the Western Kentucky University athletics department or the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
