The men’s longest drive was by Kevin Orchard (Hilti) and the women’s was by Stacey Williams (Bel-Ayre Rentals).
The Closest To The Pin prize was won by: Jason Enns (men’s) & Morgan Mackenzie (women’s).
Unfortunately the $10,000 Hole-in-one prize that
was sponsored by C&T Rentals was not won but Neil Courneya had the
best shot, landing close by on the green. It
was a great tournament! The weather held out and for the majority of the
day it was sunny and hot. Winnipeg experienced a '1 in 100 year'
rainfall that evening which flooded out major streets and shut down rush
hour traffic in parts of the city. Our golfers lucked out for the most
part, one group escaped the rain and while the rest just got a bit wet.
By the time dinner was served it was a torrential downpour.Prizes and special mentions were handed out at
dinner. Roland Campbell (United Rentals) had brought along two employees
to celebrate work anniversaries with a day of golf: Larry Thomson (30
years at United) and Jason Lewicki (15 years at United).
The tournament had a lot of support with prize donations and everyone left with some great items.
Next year’s golf tournament is already in the works.
