Western Global launches Easy Money campaign
February 12, 2018 - Western Global has launched its Easy Money campaign for rental companies.
This educational program provides rental stores with marketing resources to increase profits and maximize their investment in fuel tanks for their fleet.
The principle behind Easy Money is simple. Most machinery in rental fleets consumes diesel – whether you are renting pumps, earthmoving equipment, forklifts, cranes, generators, or heaters and cooling equipment. This poses an opportunity to upsell a fuel tank for additional revenue and increased site share on each project.
“Having worked with hundreds of rental companies over the past 16 years, I’ve found that the response to unconventional revenue ideas are varied, but it usually comes down to the ROI,” explains Tim Doling, Key Accounts Manager for Western Global. “Rental companies are looking for assets that yield high return, require minimal maintenance, and are rentable across multiple markets. Fuel tanks fit that description perfectly.”
Many major equipment rental corporations have demonstrated that fuel tanks can be a proven source of revenue with an average dollar utilization of around 85%. Because fuel tanks have no moving parts, little maintenance is needed beyond regular cleanings and inspections. In addition, fuel tanks are typically the first on a site and last off it, providing consistently high time utilization rates. These advantages offer rental companies a strong monetary return and a great opportunity for increased revenue.
As part of the campaign, Western Global has created new training resources for rental stores to educate their employees. These include product videos and literature for behind the counter. “We provide simple tips to ensure fuel tank rentals are maximized, like our Two-By-Two Rule,” says Doling. “If a customer is renting two pieces of equipment for two weeks or more, a fuel tank should be offered. It’s something the end-user will need, and by ordering it from the same store where he gets his other equipment, it ensures everything will be delivered on time. It is a convenience for the customer and an add-on sale for the store.”
In addition, the company is launching new diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) solutions to help customers with fleets that include Tier 4 equipment. The ABBI Blue (model #15ART-BLU-EB) combines mobile refueling capabilities with DEF storage into one convenient unit. It has a 395-gallon compartment for fuel and a 42-gallon compartment for diesel exhaust fluid; separate compartments maintain purity. The ABBI Blue is mounted to a DOT-approved highway trailer with electric brakes for easy transportation to and around job sites. Like all Western Global tanks, it is double-walled and has a lockable equipment cabinet for security.
Another new DEF solution is the TransCube 04TCG-DEF. Like other tanks in the TransCube family, it is double-walled and transportable when full, with load-lifting eyes and forklift pockets for easy handling. Optional accessories are available, including blanket heaters and DEF transfer pump kits, to simplify DEF storage and dispensing.
