Feb. 2, 2011 – Lenox, a manufacturer of power tool accessories, hand tools, torches, solder and band saw blades, has announced the expansion of its T2 Technology to demolition and wood reciprocating saw blades. Lenox says the patent-pending T2 Technology blades deliver 100 percent longer blade life and 25 percent faster cutting compared to the previous generation of Lenox demolition and wood reciprocating saw blades.

The company says that in addition to delivering unsurpassed blade life, Lenox T2 Demolition Blades are the widest blades in the demolition category and provide maximum durability and control when cutting through the toughest construction materials. T2 Technology blades also have optimized tooth geometry for each Tooth Per Inch (TPI) blade specification. Each TPI has a unique tooth shape and set pattern to minimize friction and cut more efficiently. Less friction prevents excessive heat build-up which in-turn eliminates the conditions that lead to rapid tooth wear and premature blade failure. Ultimately, the patent-pending T2 design leads to higher levels of productivity by allowing tradesmen to spend more time cutting and less time changing blades.

T2 Wood Blades have also been upgraded with the T2 Technology.  The Lenox T2 Wood cutting reciprocating saw blades have a tooth geometry that lasts longer and cuts faster in nail-embedded wood.  Additionally, the 6-inch wood cutting blade has a new plunge cutting tooth design on the tip of the blade that makes plunge cuts faster and easier.

Lenox T2 Technology was originally introduced on Lenox metal cutting reciprocating blades in 2008 bringing with it a dramatic performance improvement in tough metal cutting applications.  Applying this new technology to the Demolition and Wood cutting reciprocating saw blades is the next step in the extension of T2 Technology. During demolition work, users often don’t know what kind of materials they will encounter. The T2 blades are durable enough to handle the widest variety of construction materials so users can be confident that they will be able to cut through the toughest challenges they encounter on demolition jobs.
