Mar. 26, 2019 - Terex has announced that it has agreed to sell its Demag Mobile Cranes business to Tadano Ltd. for an enterprise value of approximately $215 million. The Demag Mobile Cranes business manufactures and sells all terrain cranes and large crawler cranes. Included in the transaction are the manufacturing facilities in Zweibrucken, Germany and multiple sales and service locations. The sale, which is subject to government regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is targeted to close in mid-2019.
Mar. 25, 2019 - The new ANSI A92.22 standards for Safe Use and ANSI A92.24 standards for Training carry with them some major changes and substantial additional requirements for training, with new requirements for supervisor training. To help jobsites be in compliance when the new standards go into effect in December 2019, the Genie® Lift Pro™ Online MEWP Supervisor Training Course is now available. This course was developed specifically for supervisors and meets all of the requirements set forth in the new standards.
Canada’s new set of CSA B354 standards for mobile elevated work platforms have created some controversy surrounding the responsibilities placed upon the equipment owner, dealer, and user, especially when it comes to training. Believe it or not, rental companies can fall under these titles, especially when employees are using the equipment.
Standards are important and may establish standardized requirements for design of a product, process or system. They can specify performance of products or personnel. They can also define terms and definitions specific to the standard, so there is no misunderstanding among those using the standard.
Mar. 12, 2019 - Linamar Corporation’s Skyjack division released a white paper highlighting the core changes to their DC scissor products in conjunction with the new ANSI standards. The white paper, which was distributed at The ARA Show in Anaheim, outlines what Skyjack did to go beyond compliance and treat these new designs as an opportunity.
Feb. 26, 2019 - Custom Equipment announces the next generation of Hy-Brid Lifts to better align with individual user needs. The line is being divided into three series — the Push-Around Series (PA Series), Pro Series (PS Series) and Zero-Turn Series (ZT Series) — to simplify the selection process. This includes a number of safety and productivity enhancements to the existing products, as well as the introduction of two new models: the PA-1030 and ZT-1630.
