June 9, 2011 – Nominations are now open for 2011 inductees into the
off-road equipment industry Hall of Fame program of the Association of
Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). The AEM Hall of Fame seeks to create a
wider public understanding and appreciation of the industry's role in
global prosperity and improved quality of life, not only in the past
but for the future.
Nominations may only be submitted online at the
Hall of Fame website. Deadline for submissions is July 18, 2011. Full
details are online at www.aemhalloffame.com.
Nominees should be from the manufacturing, distribution, rental or
end-user sectors of the off-road equipment industry. Any person, living
or deceased, who has made noteworthy and specific contributions that
have helped improve the industry is eligible. Candidates will be
evaluated on five criteria that are critical to the health of the
off-road equipment manufacturing industry: innovation, industry
contributions, leadership, corporate citizenship/social
responsibility and sustainability.
The Hall of Fame was created in 1993 to honor the pioneering individuals
who have invented, managed, built and led the off-road equipment
industry. The Hall of Fame is AEM’s way to recognize, celebrate and
preserve the history of these outstanding industry leaders. As in past
years, in 2011 nominees will be evaluated by an independent panel of
industry experts. Since its inception, more than 35 industry leaders
have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
"We continue to face the challenges of a shrinking workforce,
insufficient funding for an overburdened infrastructure and a changing
global marketplace. We hope the innovation and creativity exemplified by
Hall of Fame members will inspire the next generation to continue our
industry’s legacy of productivity, sustainability and growth," stated
AEM President Dennis Slater.
