"Receiving the scholarships has been a great benefit to starting my career in the rental industry. It has allowed me to pursue a diploma in public relations, which will help me better represent myself and my company in the business world and everyday life. And, from doing so, I’ve been inspired to take on more roles and responsibilities, such as secretary of the Manitoba CRA local board and receiving my CERP designation. I feel the scholarships were the starting point to my career and I am very grateful I had the opportunity to benefit from them," says Louise Serpa of Bel-Ayre Rentals in Winnipeg. Serpa was the recipient of the 2008/2009 Dorothy Wellnitz Scholarship and ARA Foundation Scholarship.

The Dorothy Wellnitz Scholarship, named in honour of the former executive director of the Canadian Rental Association, is worth US$1,000. The ARA Foundation also is offering 23 total scholarships, including the new Leonard Hawk Founders Scholarship worth US$3,000.
