Deere PowerSight, a new technology solution for John Deere diesel
engines installed in OEM equipment. John Deere PowerSight represents
another JDPS solution that provides reliable uptime and low cost of
operation in off-highway applications.

John Deere PowerSight features four John Deere technologies — the JDLink machine monitoring system, machine health prognostics, remote diagnostics and programming, and the PowerAssistTM app — that integrate seamlessly to help customers manage their John Deere-powered OEM equipment. The technology solution is available for John Deere Final Tier 4/Stage IV, Interim Tier 4/Stage III B and Tier 3/Stage III A engines.

“Using the suite of services in John Deere PowerSight, end users can achieve more uptime, increased profitability and greater productivity,” said John Radke – manager worldwide customer support for JDPS. “For our OEM partners, John Deere PowerSight represents an opportunity to differentiate their equipment offerings. We’re pleased to offer a powerful technology solution that enhances our world-class engine lineup in OEM applications.”

John Deere is a leader in the development of innovative management solutions including telematics. The company offers exclusive John Deere WorkSightTM and John Deere FarmSightTM technology suites to help construction and agriculture customers turn data into fleet management and maintenance answers. John Deere PowerSight is a corresponding solution for John Deere off-highway diesel engines installed in OEM equipment.

In addition to introducing John Deere PowerSight at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014, JDPS is showcasing Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines that are built to deliver responsive performance, reliable uptime and low cost of operation in the most demanding off-highway applications. JDPS will display 2.9L to 13.5L engines and FunkTM drivetrain components in South Hall 4, booth 83718. John Deere engines also will be featured in a variety of John Deere and OEM Final Tier/Stage IV machines at the show.

For Final Tier 4/Stage IV, John Deere adopted the best available engine technologies to enhance the customer experience while meeting the more stringent emissions regulations. John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology configurations are tailored to meet Final Tier 4/Stage IV emissions regulations and customer needs in each power range.

“We’ve ensured a reliable Final Tier 4 solution through 60 million Interim Tier 4 field hours and more than 500,000 hours of Final Tier 4 testing,” said John Piasecki, director of worldwide marketing, sales and customer support for JDPS “And the total diesel fuel and DEF consumption with our Final Tier 4 engines is generally expected to be lower than diesel fuel only consumption of our Interim Tier 4 engines.”

JDPS recently reached two new milestones in the transition to Final Tier 4. The PowerTechTM EWX 4.5L engine was certified as compliant with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Final Tier 4 and California Air Resources Board emissions regulations. The 55 kW (74 hp) model is the first John Deere Final Tier 4 engine below 56 kW (75 hp) to achieve Final Tier 4 certification, confirming customer confidence in John Deere Integrated Emissions Control system technology. John Deere also recently started production of its larger displacement Final Tier 4/Stage IV engines — models meeting emissions regulations that took effect Jan. 1, 2014, for engines 130 kW (174 hp) and above.
