April 19, 2011 - Sales of Canadian goods at the wholesale level fell in February, breaking a string of six consecutive monthly increases. Statistics Canada reports that there were $46.9 billion in wholesale sales in February, down six-tenths of a percent from January.
Compared with February 2010, however, wholesale sales were up seven per cent from $43.8 billion.

Statistics Canada says the motor vehicle and parts sector experienced a decline of 3.1 percent. There were also declines personal and household goods, farm products, and in the miscellaneous sector. All components of the miscellaneous sector were down including agricultural supplies, which dropped 5.6 percent.
