Canada for the Monsoon by Buffalo Turbine. The Monsoon is an airborne
dust control system.
The Monsoon covers an area up to 10,000 square feet with an ultrafine mist that encapsulates and causes dust particles to drop to the ground.
The prime markets for this equipment are the aggregate, waste and recycling and demolition industries.
While the equipment is priced low enough for large demolition contractors to buy outright, the rental market is prime for smaller contractors who only have periodic dust suppression requirements.
According to Silvertop Supply, the main benefits of the Monsoon are:
• Lower operational cost. The Monsoon uses as little as ½ litre per minute.
• Lower disposal fees. The Monsoon reduces the amount of water sprayed on demolition rubble, meaning less weight being trucked off site.
• Lower labour rates. The Monsoon is a stand alone unit that gets rid of a worker spraying down the rubble with a hose.
• Versatility. The unit is available in gas, electric or diesel configurations. It comes mounted on a trailer that can easily be maneuvered around the job site. A remote control allows the excavator or loader operator to adjust the output nozzle, changing the direction of the mist.
