Dollar drops, commodity prices retreat
Jan. 24, 2012 - The Canadian dollar closed lower as data showed a sharp drop in inflation during December while prices for oil and metals backed off. The loonie was down 0.17 of a cent to 98.7 cents U.S. after inflation fell 0.6 per cent from November to an annualized rate of just 2.3 per cent.

Canadian Rental Mart sold out
Jan. 9, 2011 - Canadian Rental Mart show organizers have announced the 2012 edition, March 6 and 7 at the Toronto Congress Centre, has sold out the exhibition floor. The sellout comes almost two months before the actual date of the show. Over 40,000 square feet of show floor divided into almost 200 booth spaces has been sold to 93 exhibitors, making this show the biggest in 15 years.

Volvo Rents moves into Ontario
Jan. 2, 2012 - In 2011, Volvo Rents acquired more than 50 companies in the United States. Recently, however, the brand announced its first acquisition of a competitor north of the border with the recent signing of the Centreline Group of Rental Companies, a six-location construction equipment rental company found throughout Ontario. This new acquisition lifts Volvo Rents’ North American location total to more than 90 stores.
