Manitou and Yanmar to cooperate
Feb. 7, 2012 - Manitou, a world leader in material handling and compact equipment, and Yanmar, a global manufacturer of diesel engines and a broad range of compact equipment, have announced the formation of a strategic alliance. The two companies have had a successful long-standing partnership including the use of Yanmar engines in Gehl and Mustang branded compact equipment manufactured by Manitou in the United States.

Handheld power screed from Stone
 Stone Construction Equipment has added a handheld vibrating power
screed line to its concrete finishing offering: the Stone Screed Bull.
Users can choose from two models: the heavy-duty professional contractor’s
model, the VSB80 - which handles boards to 16 feet yet weighs in at only
32 pounds - or the lighter weight, rental-ready model, the VSB70, which runs 12-foot
boards with ease and weighs only 25 pounds. Both deliver optimum
performance in 2 to 9-inch slumps.
Sany and Putzmeister merge
Feb. 2, 2012 – Putzmeister and Sany Heavy Industry have announced
the signing of an agreement on the merger of both companies. Sany,
together with the Chinese private equity company CITIC PE Advisors, acquires 100 per cent
of Putzmeister. Both
parties agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
Rough terrain telescopic handler from Manitou
 Feb. 1, 2012 - Manitou has introduced the new model MT 5519 telescopic handler, a new addition to the MT series product range. The new telescopic handlers low-profile compact frame with an overall height of six feet, four inches and tight turning radius of 11 feet mean it can maneuver in low buildings and confined job sites. The MT 5519 allows for operation in buildings, under parking garages and in confined areas. The low-profile boom reaches to a height of 19 feet, one inch and features the same welded box-section design that is on the larger MT Series telescopic handlers.
Finning buys Bucyrus assets
Feb. 1, 2012 - Finning International is bulking up its position in the mining industry with the acquisition of the distribution and support businesses of former Bucyrus International from Caterpillar for US$465 million. The company issued a joint announcement with Caterpillar which said it would take control of the support business formerly operated by Bucyrus in South America, the U.K., and Western Canada.
