Canadians land ARA and CRA scholarships
May 22, 2012 - The educational goals of three Canadian students just became a little easier to achieve, thanks to ARA Foundation and affiliate scholarships awarded for the 2012/2013 academic year. The recipients are selected by the ARA Foundation scholarship committee. There were 29 scholarship winners in total. The Canadian winners are: Melanie Cougle of Perfect Party Place in Bowmanville, Ont., Laura Snell of NJS Design Event and Party Rentals in Clinton, Ont., and Peter Van Staveren of Stayner Rental in Stayner, Ont.


Texada joins forces with LiuGong

May 18, 2012 - Texada Software, following last week's announcement of a US$25 million financing agreement for the company's equipment rental business, is pleased to announce the signing of a dealership agreement with LiuGong Construction Machinery through its wholly owned subsidiary, Noble Equipment. The agreement provides the company with exclusive distribution rights for LiuGong products including wheel loaders, excavators, motor graders, compaction equipment and bulldozers in one of the best performing markets in the United States, Houston, Texas. In addition, Noble Equipment will have exclusive territory rights to service LiuGong products and to provide LiuGong attachments and parts.



AEM offers French safety manuals
May 17, 2012 - The Association of Equipment Manufacturers now offers French Canadian versions of its Aerial Platform Safety Manual and Aerial Devices Safety Manual to help equipment manufacturers comply with government language requirements for distributing products in Quebec. The two manuals outline possible responses to basic safety situations that may be found during normal equipment start-up, operation and maintenance.


Rental Show cracks TSNN top 100
May 16, 2012 - Trade Show News Network has released its latest TSNN Top 250 Trade Show rankings of the largest shows in the U.S. for 2011. The Rental Show was number 99. The TSNN rankings are based on net square footage of exhibit space.


L.M. Temperature Control address change
May 15, 2012 - L.M Temperature Control has announced its move to a larger location. As of May 31, the company will be relocated to 217 Statesman Drive in Mississauga, Ont. The telephone number, fax number and toll free number will remain the same.


Skiles new national account manager for Nissan

Flannery promoted to COO of United
matthewflanneryMay 11, 2012 - United Rentals has announced the appointment of Matt Flannery as executive vice-president and chief operating officer, effective with the closing of the company's merger with RSC Holdings announced on April 30. He previously served as executive vice-president of operations and sales, and leads the RSC integration process.


Midnight Sun picks up Terex
May 7, 2012 – Midnight Sun Energy, a Northwest Territories’-based sustainable mining and industrial supply house and service center, now offers the full line of Terex compact construction equipment to its customers in the Northwest Territories. The Terex compact construction equipment line is made up of more than 45 unique product models including compact track loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, skid steers and loader backhoes.


Exoskeleton helps people lift

The muscle suit is one of a series of cybernetic exoskeletons developed by Hiroshi Kobayashi's team at the Tokyo University of Science in Japan. Scheduled for commercial release early next year, the wearable robot takes two forms: one augmenting the arms and back that is aimed at areas of commerce where heavy lifting is required. LiuGong offers financing in Canada
May 2, 2012 - LiuGong Construction Machinery is pleased to announce the expansion of their partnership with De Lage Landen to include wholesale and retail financing to their valued dealers and customers throughout Canada.  Prior to this new agreement being signed, LiuGong and DLL have successfully collaborated to offer financing to dealers and customers throughout the United States.
