May 6, 2016 - The Canadian Rental Association has made a large donation to the Canadian Red Cross to assist with wildfire relief in Fort McMurray, Alta., and is calling on members to add their support. CRA members can donate online or via text message.

The CRA national office posted the following message on Facebook:

“By now you have all heard about the devastating and frightening situation unfolding in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The wildfires have forced mandatory evacuation for many families from their homes and people from their businesses. Unfortunately, some of them had to leave with just a back pack leaving behind all their belongings. This is the largest fire evacuation in Alberta’s history with tens of thousands displaced and the situation just keeps getting worse.

“The Canadian Rental Association donated $3,000 to the Canadian Red Cross as the federal government announced yesterday that any donation made via the Canadian Red Cross would be matched! This is time to show our support to this poor community.

“If you are in a position to help, here is how you can donate:
The Canadian Red Cross has set up an emergency “Alberta Fires” appeal and you can text REDCROSS to 30333 to make a $5 donation or 45678 for $10.
